Nigerian designer Kenneth Ize and the Karl Lagerfeld brand have launched a capsule collection, available in stores today.
The collection features gender neutral shirts, trousers and jackets in black and white prints, contrasted with blocks of colour. According to Ize, the inspiration behind the collection includes traditional Aso-Oke fabrics from Nigeria.
The collaboration is available online via retailers like Farfetch and Browns and directly on the Karl Lagerfeld website.
“This was such an incredible experience,” Ize said in a press release. “It allowed me to play with the brand’s existing style codes and expand my own approach to design. I hope the public falls in love with the result.”
Ize was a semi finalist for the 2019 LVMH Prize and is the first Black designer to collaborate with the Karl Lagerfeld brand.
