The Parisian house will present its Resort 2021/2022 collection at the Carrières de Lumières, in the village of Les Baux-de-Provence, on May 4. The white limestone quarries, which in recent years have become a home for multimedia art exhibitions, also served as the setting for the 1959 film Testament d’Orphée, directed by Jean Cocteau, a friend of Coco Chanel’s.

The company has yet to communicate plans regarding how many people will be invited to attend the show, or whether there will be any audience at all. In France, the rollout for the Covid-19 vaccine has been sped up in recent days in an effort to contain a more infectious variant of the virus. The pandemic put a hold on destination fashion shows that could last more than a year.
