The recently rebranded Zegna will open Milan Fashion Week’s January menswear edition which is planned to go ahead in physical form from Jan. 14 to 18, the event’s organising body, Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana, said.
The event will see 23 in-person runway shows staged. Designers showing will include a mix of anchor brands like Armani and Fendi as well as visiting designers including 1017 ALYX 9SM and JW Anderson.
The announcement stood in contrast to London Fashion Week’s move to cancel its January menswear edition citing uncertainties due to Covid-19 .
Milan Fashion Week in September had been billed as a grand return to in-person events, but attendance was limited due to ongoing strict restrictions on indoor gatherings. Brands, media, and retailers attending the January edition will continue to be subject to fast-evolving guidelines amid regional surges in Covid-19 cases and concern over the new Omicron variant.
