The Emmy-winning actress’ contributions to fashion include launching a gender-fluid clothing line, Daya by Zendaya; a collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger; and serving as a spokesperson for Lancôme, Bulgari and Valentino. With stylist Law Roach, she’s worn some of 2021′s most talked-about red carpet ensembles. Zendaya joins the ranks of prior Fashion Icon recipients including Naomi Campbell, Beyonce and Lady Gaga.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) will also name “Queen’s Gambit” star Anya Taylor-Joy its inaugural Face of the Year, and will honour the Model Alliance — a New York-based labour rights protection non-profit — with its Positive Social Influence award at its ceremony on Nov. 10.
