Adidas Top-Performing Fashion Company in Corporate Human Rights Benchmark

Uniqlo-owner Fast Retailing and Gap were also among fashion’s top performers in the World Benchmarking Alliance’s ranking of companies’ human rights performance. However, there is still need for significant improvement: the average company score was just nine out of a possible 26. Prada, Capri Holdings and Salvatore Ferragamo all scored below five out of 26.

The WBA uses public information to assess company policies and practices, as well as corporate responses to ‘serious allegations.’ Total performance is scored across three assessment areas: ‘governance and policy commitments;’ ‘embedding respect and human rights due diligence;’ and ‘remedies and grievance mechanisms.’
