Sicha is stepping down from his position as editor of the publication’s styles section to focus on expanding its newsletter portfolio. Sicha joined the section in September 2017, expanding its roster of reporters and freelancers, as well as reimagining its tone and the issues it should cover. Recent articles include a guide to social media etiquette and a piece on expensive cat toys. The New York Times has not yet announced Sicha’s successor.

No media publication has been immune to the newsletter boom, with several prominent writers and editors leaving publications to start their own subscription-based options. Sicha will join editor Sam Dolnick and editorial director Adam Pasick in pushing the Times’s range of newsletters forward.
