Payment Service Start-Up Mollie Raises $800 Million at $6.5B Valuation

The Amsterdam-based company plans to use the Series C funding to build its team, expand internationally and invest in developing its product. The round was led by funds managed by Blackstone Growth. 

Mollie launched in 2004 and now serves more than 120,000 monthly active merchants. It processed more than €10 billion ($11.8 billion) in transactions last year and said it is on track to hit more than €20 billion this year. The company plans to hire around 300 new employees in the next 6 to 9 months and is considering new countries for expansion.
