The e-commerce site has named April Hennig to the newly created role, effective August 30. The former president of Los Angeles-based brand, Jonathan Simkhai, will oversee product strategy, category expansion, merchandise planning and brand partnerships and experiences.
The appointment is the latest in a series of executive hires. The company named Jim Gold chief executive in May, a role he had held on an interim basis since January. It also appointed executives to several other newly created or expanded leadership roles in June, after raising funds from investment company G Squared and venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates in May.
Hennig’s previous experience includes time at Bergdorf Goodman, where she led women’s ready-to-wear and accessories. She is also a founding board member of racial equality non-profit RAISEfashion, which was founded last year and provides consulting, mentorship and development opportunities to Black-owned brands and individuals in the fashion industry.
