Thousands of workers at a major factory in southern Vietnam went on strike for a fifth day on Tuesday in protest over social insurance cover. The factory is a footwear maker for firms that include Nike Inc and Adidas and brands like Lacoste, Converse and Reebok.
Yue Yuen Industrial Holdings Ltd., which makes shoes including for Adidas AG and Nike Inc., said production at one of its factories in South China was disrupted as workers upset with organizational changes went on strike.
