Agenda-setting intelligence, analysis and advice for the global fashion community.
LONDON, United Kingdom — The interstitial period between the end of the haute couture shows and the beginning of New York Fashion Week has provided the first real moment of calm in 2014 to sit back and reflect on the year to come, and on bigger forces shaping various elements of the fashion and luxury industry. Indeed, many of our articles this week were the kind of thought-pieces that BoF has become known for, the perfect lean-back experience for reading in our new Flipboard magazine, BoF Weekly.
In particular, this week we explored the future of Savile Row, the legendary birthplace of modern men's tailoring, and home to a vibrant group of brands young and old that are attracting investment and interest from around the world as they move into ready-to-wear, which is drawing some criticism from stalwarts of Savile Row, even as they compete in a global menswear market that is growing rapidly.
