By commissioning digitally savvy content, including the infamous Kim Kardashian #BreakTheInternet cover, the creative catapulted Paper Magazine into global awareness. Now, he's turning his attention to a legacy beauty brand.
As of October 28, 2019, Drew Elliott is the senior vice president, global creative director of M.A.C. Cosmetics, joining the company from Paper magazine.
During his tenure at Paper, Elliott was responsible for the publication’s digital savvy, and the impressive impact of its social media campaigns. By embracing digital and commissioning viral content, Elliott has catapulted the publication to global exposure. Engineering Kim Kardashian’s controversial #BreakTheInternet cover, he demonstrated his expertise in online content creation and insight into the mechanics of influencer engagement.
In 2008, Elliott joined Paper Communications as vice president. In 2010, he moved to California-based social media and publishing company theAudience as vice president of brand integration. In 2014, Elliott returned to Paper as the chief creative officer.
Elliott grew up in Bloomington, Indiana and graduated from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualised Study in 2003, majoring in Pop Culture and English. He has collaborated with BoF on educational projects, tutoring an online course in Digital Marketing and providing crucial insight for the 2019 playbook, "How to Maximise Your Influencer Strategy."
