With a lengthy career spanning over 40 years in the fashion industry, Costanza Pascolato cemented her status as Brazil’s reigning grand dame of fashion with the launch of her eponymous style blog in March 2013. Featuring up-to-date fashion news and features on special projects, the blog acts as a platform for the style doyenne to reach a global audience, as well as documenting her long career.
An Italian native, Pascolato moved to Brazil in 1947 at the age of eight, where her parents established the Santaconstancia textile weaving company. Working ad-hoc at Santaconstancia throughout the 1960s, Pascolato began working for Brazilian women’s magazine Claudia Fashion in 1971 where she honed her skills in fashion journalism. After leaving the magazine in 1988, Pascolato set up a consulting company and contributed to Folha de São Paulo, before taking up a regular column in Vogue Brazil in 2001.
A creative consultant for the H.Stern jewellery brand, Pascolato has also created a capsule collection for Brazilian footwear company Shoestock and has published three books, including The Essentials: what you need to know to live with more style, and Confidential: Secrets of style, fashion and living well. In 2008, Pascolato was awarded the Commendatore dell’Ordine della Stella by the Italian government in recognition of her contribution to the fashion industry.
