Sharna Osborne

Photographer

The photographer and filmmaker has turned fashion imagery on its head with her signature use of lo-fi aesthetics inspired by the 1990s and 2000s.

Biography

Sharna Osborne is a photographer and filmmaker whose unique vision and style has propelled her to shoot editorials and covers for the likes of Dazed, i-D, Vogue Italia and System magazine. With her signature use of lo-fi digital imagery and irreverent takes on the human form, Osborne’s instantly recognisable aesthetic has garnered the support of Barbara Nicoli and Thomas Lohr , the latter having described her as “pushing digital photography to another level.”

Born in the town of Springbook, New Zealand, Osborne studied Fine Art and majored in Moving Image, which “in hindsight awarded me the most necessary skill set for what I do now,” she said in an interview with i-D. Osborne also photographed Gemma Ward, who featured on the cover of the magazine in December 2018 to celebrate her return to modelling.

Further to her prolific photography for alternative and fashion titles, Osborne lensed Napa x Martine Rose ’s Autumn/Winter 2018 collaboration video. Her work as a photographer also features heavily in the book of makeup artist and long-time collaborator Thomas de Kluvyer: “All I Want to Be.”

Osborne is based in London and represented by Management + Artists.
