Biography

Ekaterina Mukhina is a stylist and Editor-in-Chief of Elle Russia. Appointed to her current role in early 2017, Mukhina has worked at the publication in several capacities since 2004. As one of Russia’s leading stylists, she has collaborated on shoots for the likes of Ellen Von Unwerth and Karl Lagerfeld .

Graduating from Moscow State University in 2002, Mukhina went on to work for Vogue Russia from 2003 to 2004, eventually becoming the first Russian fashion director at the title.

“Ekaterina is one of the most gifted and charismatic fashion directors on the Russian market,” said Karina Dobrotvorskaya, then president of Condé Nast Russia in a statement at the time. “Although young, she has gained invaluable experience working for some of today’s leading fashion titles in Russia.”

She has since styled for various international editions of the publication, as well as Marie Claire and Elle, where she has worked as a stylist, Junior Fashion Editor and later Fashion Editor.

At Elle, Mukhina has been able reach a much broader and diverse audience of Russian consumers than some of her peers in other upmarket fashion titles. With over 190,000 followers on Instagram, Mukhina’s considerable social media presence, teamed with the already strong Elle readership of around 600,000, make her an increasingly influential voice in the country’s fashion industry.
