Biography

As executive president of the Fédération Française de la Couture, Pascal Morand operates from within the inner sanctum of French fashion. He is tasked with representing the interests of the many designers and storied houses at Paris Fashion Week, including Chanel, Céline, Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Hermès and Saint Laurent. Before his appointment to the Fédération, Morand was deputy director general of the Paris Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in charge of Studies, Public Affairs and Policy. An accomplished author, academic and expert on fashion in relation to the global economy, Morand led two top French universities, as director general of L’Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) and dean of the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP), Europe Business School. From 2007 to 2010, he was endorsed by Christine Lagarde, then the French finance minister, with a number of missions dealing with globalisation, innovation and the economy.
