Biography

Peter Zhong and Chris Wang are Chinese streetwear industry leaders and co-founders of the influential youth culture media group Nowre. Founded in 2014, the online magazine of the same name provides an important conduit to reach and engage with streetwear and sneaker-obsessed Chinese consumers. The pair oversee a portfolio of media brands including dedicated women’s streetwear publication NowHer, quarterly title Within and the Chinese edition of outdoor lifestyle magazine Go Out. At the end of 2022, they counted over 5 million followers across the social media channels of the group’s holdings. Zhong and Wang then opened content agency CreateNow in 2017. Collaborating with brands for campaigns, partnerships, production and events, the pair have worked with over 100 clients including some of the largest sportswear, activewear and streetwear brands like Arc'teryx, Burton, Adidas Originals, Salomon and New Balance.

Wang started his career in 2004 as one of the earliest team members of Yoho, which was one of China’s leading streetwear companies at the time, heading up collaborations for the firm before growing its online community and later leading its e-commerce operations. He then joined advertising firm Wieden & Kennedy in Shanghai as a planner and then founded his own PR agency Horizon in 2009. In 2014, he teamed up with Zhong who had worked for the retail and marketing teams at Nike and Converse to launch Nowre. At their joint company, Wang focuses on branding and operations while Zhong oversees business development.
