Biography

The Bollywood star and former Miss World has made waves in Hollywood, becoming one of the most in-demand Indian actresses in the world. She has cemented her status as a fashion icon through her Ralph Lauren dress at the Met Gala, and campaigns for Guess, Gap, and jewellery brand Nirav Modi.

Chopra was cast in Edward Enninful ’s Bridging the Gap campaign for Gap, and has starred alongside Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in luxury jewellery brand Nirav Modi’s Spring 2017 campaign, shot by Patrick Demarchelier. She frequently collaborates with designers for red carpet appearances, including a Ralph Lauren trench dress for the 2017 Met Gala, and Ralph and Russo for the Oscars that same year.

The Indian-born actress began her career after winning the Miss World title in the early 2000s, making her Bollywood debut in 2003. Chopra has since become a renowned name in both Hollywood and television, and was named in 2016 as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People. In 2017, she was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke accolade, Indian cinema’s highest honour, receiving over 620 awards and nominations in the course of her career.

Chopra is also an avid philanthropist: she has worked closely with Unicef as a Goodwill Ambassador for the last 10 years, and founded The Priyanka Chopra Foundation for Health and Education, giving 10 percent of her earnings towards the trust. She has also promoted a number of other causes, including environmental awareness and women’s rights.

In late 2018, Chopra married American singer Nick Jonas wearing custom Ralph Lauren and a show-stopping veil, followed by an Indian ceremony in 2019 in which she wore Sabyasachi Mukherji's designs.
