Biography

Rafael Pavarotti’s photography carries a poignant style, with bold compositional arrangements and arresting fashion images that capture Indigenous and Black inspirations of today.

Born in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest in 1993, Pavarotti took his first big step into photography when he and a group of friends put their money together to buy film and shoot their hometown’s beaches and abandoned buildings. At 16, he left his remote upbringing for London.

Recent collaborations with British-Gambian fashion editor Ibrahim Kamara have been both celebrated and controversial, underscoring calls for social and racial justice world-wide. The photographer’s work has been featured in British Vogue, Vogue Paris, and i-D as well as in campaigns for Matches, Browns, Dries Van Noten and Dior.
