Biography

Fung is the group managing director of Fung Retailing Group and the daughter of Victor Fung, the group's honorary chairman of supply chain management company Li & Fung. She was appointed a deputy chairman of the company in August 2016.

Born in New York, the Harvard graduate worked in banking before joining Li & Fung. Today, she is based in Hong Kong and oversees a range of businesses at Fung Retailing Group, including menswear brands Gieves & Hawkes, Kilgour, Cerruti and Kent & Curwen.

Fung is also a director of Macy’s China, a joint venture between US department store chain Macy’s and Fung Retailing. She began her career at the family company at the private investment arm of Fung Group in 2000 as an investment manager running its investments. Prior to joining her family’s business, she worked for Brown Brothers Harriman & Co in New York and later held the position of assistant manager at its Hong Kong office until 1999. She also held positions in marketing and public relations for Salvatore Ferragamo Asia.

She graduated from Harvard University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1993.

In November 2018, Fung Retailing, with a global network of over 3,000 stores, and Alibaba Group Holding announced a strategic partnership to bring more international lifestyle brands to mainland China. Fung Retailing also partnered with JD.com to launch Hong Kong's first AI checkout in a retail store in March 2019.
