Biography

As owner and chief executive of Rubaiyat Modern Luxury Co. Ltd, Sheikh Abdullah Bingazr owns the distribution rights for leading luxury brands such as Bottega Veneta, Kenzo, Balenciaga and Dolce & Gabbana within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He runs the company together with his wife Wafaa Abbar, who is the group's president and main shareholder.

Founded in 1980 the group has established a strong presence in Riyadh, Al-Khobar, Jeddah and Dahran, offering a range of men’s, women’s and kidswear lines to the highly affluent market. In 2008, the group launched a sister company Qaiymah Product Distribution housing brands such as Coccinelle, Armani Exchange and French Connection to reach the market at a lower price point. In 2009, the group also launched AABZ to operate the retail franchises of the Armani Group in Bahrain. In October 2017, Rubaiyat opened its inaugural jewellery and watch store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Also serving as president of the Binzagr Group, the ultimate parent company of Rubaiyat, Sheikh Abdullah oversees importing companies within the KSA, holding exclusive distribution rights for the likes of Kellogg’s, Unilever and Hershey’s. Highly committed to the family company and its 131-year history within the Kingdom, Sheikh Abdullah is noted as having actively worked his way up through the company, gaining invaluable hands-on experiences at all tiers and also completed a one-year placement in Paris with Lipton Tea.
