Biography

Tran-Nguyen Thien-Huong is the founder and chief executive of Sun Flower Media, a Vietnamese publishing house that has held the licence for local edition of Harper’s Bazaar since 2011. She serves as editor-in-chief of that title, which has become a key marketing outlet for luxury brand advertisers looking to tap into the rapidly growing market and a trusted style guide for local luxury consumers. Renowned for her colourful personal style, she is also known as Venus Tran in international fashion circles. 

Tran-Nguyen launched Sun Flower Media in 1999, after co-founding Gioi Phu Nu Woman’s World magazine two years earlier with funding from a Burda-Rizzoli joint venture. In addition to Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam, Sun Flower Media publishes regional women’s magazines Tiep Thi & Gia Dinh and in-flight magazine Vietravel. Thien-Huong serves as group editor-in-chief. A champion of local design talent, she is also a focal point for international brands looking for insight into the Vietnamese retail and marketing industries. Before entering the fashion industry, she was a teacher at the Ho Chi Minh City Open University. Tran-Nguyen has a Bachelor’s degree in English literature and linguistics from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City.
