Biography
Eva Kruse is an executive of Pangaia and former chief executive of the Global Fashion Agenda, with its flagship event being Copenhagen Fashion Summit, the world’s most important forum on sustainable fashion.
A pioneer in promoting sustainability in fashion, Kruse has worked ambitiously to push this agenda globally since 2007, an effort that includes creating Copenhagen Fashion Summit, which was launched in 2009 alongside the UN Climate Change Conference COP15 in Copenhagen. In the autumn of 2013, Kruse gave a TEDx Talk on the topic “Changing the world through fashion” in which she advocated that not only companies and politicians, but also consumers, should be at the forefront of sustainability efforts.
In 2016, Kruse put forward a new and ambitious strategy for Copenhagen Fashion Summit and created the overarching Global Fashion Agenda, which aims to take global leadership on creating a movement within fashion towards positive change and responsible innovation.
Kruse co-founded Danish Fashion Institute along with Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2005. Not only has she put Danish fashion on the political agenda but also on the global fashion map with her work with sustainability and Copenhagen Fashion Week. The fashion week in Copenhagen is now Scandinavia’s largest fashion event and was one of the first fashion weeks in the world to arrange an open programme with fashion events for the public.
After almost five years as the chief executive of the Global Fashion Agenda, Kruse stepped down in March 2021 to join as an executive of the self-styled materials science company Pangaia. She remains a board member of the Global Fashion Agenda.
Since graduating as a project manager from KaosPilots, an alternative business school, Kruse has worked in the worlds of fashion and media in various capacities, including as editor-in-chief of the fashion magazine Eurowoman and as a TV presenter on the Danish broadcasting networks TV2 and TV3.
Kruse has received several recognitions for her work with sustainability and the Summit including being awarded the Human Rights Prize of the French embassy in 2017 by the French Ambassador in Denmark François Zimeray.
