A stalwart of the fashion "It" girl group, which includes Cara Delevingne , Taylor Swift and Kendall Jenner , Gigi Hadid has fully cemented herself as a model of the moment. With a vast social media following (48.9 million Instagram followers and counting), Hadid is rapidly becoming a favourite for campaigns, editorials and covers and has been shot by major photographers like Craig McDean and Ellen von Unweath. She has starred in advertising campaigns for Fendi, Missoni, Versace and Valentino, among others.
Hadid has appeared on the cover the Japanese, Italian, Australian, British, German, Spanish, Korean, American, Dutch, Arabic and Chinese editions of Vogue, as well as Harper's Bazaar and CR Fashion Book.
Hadid, began her career at the age of 2 as a baby model for Guess Jeans and has since starred in the label’s signature campaigns from Autumn/Winter 2012 to Spring/Summer 2015. She is the daughter of Dutch model-turned-interior-designer Yolanda Hadid, and the Los Angeles-born model's unique look can be credited to her Dutch-Palestinian heritage; her father is Palestinian real estate mogul Mohammed Hadid. Her sister Bella is also a model.
Signed to IMG models in 2011, Hadid made her runway debut at New York Fashion Week in February 2014, and has since walked for the likes of Chanel, Versace, Fendi and Isabel Marant .
Not content with modelling alone, Hadid has co-hosted the Daily Front Row's Fashion Media awards, starred in a short film "Virgin Eyes" and featured in a myriad of music videos for the likes of Taylor Swift, and ex-boyfriend Cody Simpson. Her social media presence has proved to be valuable for propelling the model into the public eye.
Her mother stars in Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, in which Hadid has a recurring role. In 2015, she was selected to star in the Pirelli Calendar, shot by Steven Meisel .
