Biography

Listed among the top 100 of China’s Rich List in 2012, co-founder and chief executive officer of Trendy International Group Jacky Xu oversees the operations of leading Chinese female fashion brands Ochirly and Five Plus, as well as menswear label Trendiano and children’s label Love Ysabel. Established in 1999 alongside his wife Shanhu Li, Trendy International quickly gained traction within China’s booming economy, currently operating over 2,000 outlets and maintaining a presence in most major shopping centres.

In 2012 L Capital, LVMH's private equity fund, acquired a 10 percent stake in Trendy International for $200 million, one of the largest investments made by a foreign group within the Chinese market. As part of the expansion plans with L Capital, Xu entered into a joint venture with Italian fashion company Sixty Group to acquire the operations of the Miss Sixty, Killah and Energie brands within the Asia-Pacific region.In January 2013 the group also announced collaboration with luxury Italian retailer 10 Corso Como in opening their first store in Shanghai in late 2013.

Prior to launching Trendy International Group, Xu, an established retailer, previously founded Vipshop an online outlet store based in Guangzhou and invested in a wine company alongside Chinese internet mogul William Ding.
