Biography

The long time fashion plate, and Alessandro Michele ’s most famous male muse, is the face of Gucci’s fragrance Gucci Guilty Absolute. The actor/singer is a huge supporter of the new Gucci menswear look, bringing acid-trip flora and fauna prints to his mainstream fan base.

In May 2016 Leto accompanied Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele to the 2016 MET Gala dressed in custom Gucci and later sat front row during Gucci's Spring/Summer 2017 menswear runway show during Milan fashion week, where he took over the house's Snapchat account. He has since worn the brand at numerous public engagements.

Leto and his older brother Shannon were raised by their single mother. The three lived nomadically, moving around the United States frequently, whilst being artistically stimulated by the hippy movements they joined. Leto's artistic side further developed when he enrolled into a visual art course at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

In 1992, Leto moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in directing. He has won praise for his roles in “Requiem for a Dream” (2000), “Mr. Nobody” (2009) and “Dallas Buyers Club” (2013) for which he won an Academy award, a Golden Globe award and a Screen Actors Guild award. Leto is also the lead singer of award winning rock band Thirty Second to Mars, which was founded in 1998 by Jared and his brother Shannon.

The entertainer is an environmental activist and has hosted charity events for the Red Cross, Music for Relief and the World Wide Fund for Nature. On July 25, 2016 Leto premiered the self-directed documentary “Great Wide Open,” which captured America's national parks and its explorers.
