Biography
As owner and creative director of House + Holme, a luxury fashion advertising agency, Ronnie Cooke Newhouse has worked on advertising campaigns for a number of high-profile luxury brands, including Lanvin, Dunhill, Moncler and Comme des Garçons. Cooke Newhouse collaborated with Pharrell Williams on the bottle and packaging for his fragrance, launched under Commes des Garçons, and has worked with Nicolas Ghesquière on several Louis Vuitton campaigns.
Known for her playful aesthetic, Cooke Newhouse has worked alongside prominent photographers such as Steven Meisel , Nick Knight and Tim Walker and has contributed to i-D magazine and Showstudio. Her work for Topshop and Topman is widely believed to have enabled both high-street brands' image transformation into one of leading fashion-forward retailers. Cooke Newhouse has created many notable fashion films for much of her client base; standouts include Balenciaga and Lanvin.
With an impressive career spanning over 30 years within the fashion industry, Cooke Newhouse originally moved to New York in the early ‘80s to work as an editor for Details magazine alongside founder Annie Flanders. Following the publication's purchase by Condé Nast, she began her career in creative consultancy, securing a role in Barneys New York in the early 90s. The campaigns Cooke Newhouse created for the retailer are credited with dramatically bolstering sales in-store, and in 1997 she was recruited by Calvin Klein to act as creative director, a position she held before moving to London to set up her own creative agency.
Cooke Newhouse holds and MFA from the University of Illinois and is married to Jonathan Newhouse , chairman of Condé Nast International. She is represented by Art + Commerce.
