Biography

After shaving her bleach blonde hair into a buzzcut for an Alexander McQueen campaign, British model Ruth Bell quickly climbed the ranks, with brands such as Saint Laurent, Chanel and Burberry tapping her newly tomboy image for campaign work and runway shows. A favourite of mainstream and indie magazines alike, Bell appeared on covers and editorials for several editions of Vogue in 2016 alone.

Raised in the town of Deal in Kent, Bell and her twin sister May were spotted by a scout from the renowned Elite Paris agency in 2012, while on holiday at the age of 15. Aged 16, the twins kicked off their modelling careers at i-D magazine before taking a long hiatus to focus on school.

High-street favourites Zara, Urban Outfitters and Topshop have all enlisted the doe-eyed women to front their campaigns. Since her debut appearance in Dazed magazine for their 2015 Autumn issue, Bell has graced the pages of other indie publications including Out of Order, System, Self Service, LOVE and Garage.

Before being photographed by David Sims for the Alexander McQueen campaign that would elevate her modelling career, the model shaved her head and donated her blonde tresses to the Princess Trust Charity, an organisation supplying children undergoing chemotherapy with wigs.

Making her debut at NYFW walking for Jason Wu for Autumn/Winter 2016, Bell has, in the span of two seasons, became a firm fixture at major shows, including Chanel Haute Couture. Bell was cast as the face of Saint Laurent's Cruise 2016 campaign and fronted Burberry’s Spring 2016 campaign alongside her twin sister and nine other British faces. For the Autumn/Winter 2019 season, she walked for Off-White, Dior and Fendi, among other brands.
