Biography

Anna Trevelyan’s big break came when Nicola Formichetti noticed her outré personal style on MySpace. Formichetti promptly cast her in a Uniqlo campaign. Trevelyan ended up assisting Formichetti when he was Lady Gaga’s stylist for three years, a period during which she worked closely with the famed popstar. “Working with Gaga was massive training. She works incredibly hard, non-stop, and you have to keep up with that. But after doing that, everything is achievable,” Trevelyan told BoF.

Trevelyan says she can be inspired by anything “from evil Goth to pink fairy,” but the common thread that runs though her work is a no-holds-barred attitude and a penchant for bold experimentation. In addition to styling editorial, music videos, fashion films, runway shows, advertising campaigns and lookbooks, the dynamic stylist consults with fashion and beauty brands and is the fashion director and buyer for boutique Machine-A.

Her clients and collaborators include V, The Sunday Times Style, Dazed & Confused Japan, MAC cosmetics, SHOWstudio and Hedi Slimane . Photographer Ellen von Unwerth requested that she style Marc Jacobs and Naomi Campbell for an editorial spread in Germany’s Stern. She also acts as fashion director for Untitled. In 2019 alone, the stylist has worked for Nike and Kenzo campaigns, as well as styling for Elle US and Paper Magazine, including Kylie Jenner's February cover for the latter magazine, among others. The London and New York based stylist was also behind Winnie Harlow"s 2019 Met Gala Tommy Hilfiger look.
