Biography

Cho Gi-Seok is a South Korean photographer and the founder of the streetwear brand KUSIKOHC.

Known for his surrealist images, Gi-Seok has also applied his artistic approach to his apparel and accessories label KUSIKOHC.

Gi-Seok dreamed of being an art director since childhood, and experimented with the fields of graphic and set design before pivoting to photography.

In his career as a photographer, Gi-Seok captures intricate portraits featuring abstract or unusual details and themes, such as a model with a vintage video camera for an eye surrounded by butterflies, or a rose garden both surrounding and on the face of a model who is crying blood-red tears. He’s photographed for publications such as CR Fashion, KINFOLK, Vogue Korea, Wallpaper China, and Dazed Korea. Meanwhile, he’s worked with brands including Prada and Converse Korea. His work was featured in Sweden’s Fotografiska Museum and is set to travel to New York City next year.

In 2016, he launched KUSIKOHC, a streetwear label that sells apparel and accessories. It’s released four collections, and is gearing up for a reboot and the debut of its next collection.
