Biography

Jacopo Venturini is the chief executive of Valentino, effective June 1, 2020. He was formerly the executive vice president of merchandising at Gucci. There, Venturini played a fundamental role in helping to realise the new vision for the Italian fashion house, working closely with creative director Alessandro Michele and his team. In 2018 product and markets were brought together into one single responsibility under Venturini.

"He is the person linking business needs to product sensibility; he understands the customers and the markets, and is able to express this to a creative director who has a completely different sensibility, and they can work through any problems together to create a collection," Gucci Chief Executive Marco Bizzarri told System magazine.

In October 2019, Venturini left Gucci. He had initially joined the Kering-owned brand in 2015 from Valentino, where he held the role of worldwide ready-to-wear collection director and retail image coordinator. Prior to Valentino, Venturini held merchandising positions at Prada.

Venturini reported to chief executive Marco Bizzarri, defining and implementing an effective merchandising strategy aimed at matching the creative spirit of its collections with the respective market needs.
