Biography

Julie Brown founded M.A.P (Management and Production) agency in 1990 in London, which began representing a small number of artistic professionals and has since become one of London’s most prominent fashion agencies for talent across videography, photography, art direction and creative consultancy.

Brown was initially exposed to the world of photography through David Sims . The pair, who had been dating since school, were living in Thame, Oxfordshire, where Brown worked as a veterinary nurse, before moving to London. Sims was working for an established photographer who needed an assistant, so Brown joined him from her job as a sales assistant in Next. However, their growing frustration with the photographer they were working for culminated in Brown's decision to launch a project of her own. With the help of Sims and mutual friend  Glen Luchford , M.A.P was born.

M.A.P, which now represents many of the hot, young photographic talents shaping the new wave of fashion photography. From Jamie Hawkesworth and Tyrone Lebon to Ethan James Green , photographers on Brown's books have shot campaigns for Céline, J.W. Anderson and Alexander McQueen, as well as editorials for the world’s most respected fashion publications.

The agency has since opened offices in New York and Sydney, expanding their roster to include professionals in editorial, art, fashion and styling.
