Biography

Luo Zhiwei was the general manager of SKP Beijing, one of the capital’s luxury department stores.

SKP Beijing has become Beijing’s main luxury destination, primarily due to its central location in the business district, attracting the city’s moneyed consumers and exerting a pull over the world’s biggest high fashion labels. It is also the retailer of choice for many exclusive designer collaboration pop-ups, more recently the Supreme x Louis Vuitton collection.

First named Shinkong Plaza, a joint venture between retailers from Japan, Taiwan and China, it was renamed SKP Beijing after Beijing Hualian acquired Shinkong Mitsukoshi’s shares of the operation in 2015. The department store has since become a major retail player that keeps reinventing itself with a refreshed designer and product offering, as well as a new strategy of focusing on direct buying rather than concessions.

In addition to luxury stalwarts, the store also features edgy, niche designer brands. Its direct buy section SKP Select includes JW Anderson , Rick Owens and Maison Margiela .
