Biography

Natalie Klein launched luxury multi-brand boutique NK Store at age 21. Founded in 1997 in Sao Paulo, the store’s meticulously curated selection of products from designers such as Chloé and Blumarine singled it out from other boutiques in Brazil, establishing a name for quality and pared-back chic. The launch of Klein’s two in-house labels — starting with the exclusive NK collection shortly after the 1997 store launch, and diffusion line Talie NK in 1999 — also met with rave reviews, garnering an elite Brazilian following for the labels two seasonal collections.

A graduate of architecture from the FAAP University in Sao Paulo, Klein’s upbringing in retail as heiress of the Casia Bahia chain stores in Brazil helped hone her business acumen and, in 2008, following the success of the São Paulo store, Klein opened a second NK Store boutique in Rio de Janeiro. In 2010, after a successful in-store concession space for the Marc Jacobs brand, she obtained the franchise to launch the first stand-alone Marc Jacobs store in the Iguatemi Mall in São Paulo, overseeing its business operations and in-store edits.

Klein launched the NK Store e-commerce website in late 2012, offering styled looks, an up-to-date blog and a 24/7 e-stylist service to her clientele. In 2013, Klein also partnered with Farfetch.com to showcase to a global audience.

Natalie Klein lives with her husband and children in New York.
