Biography

The eldest son of Jeongwon Park, the chairman of Doosan Corporation, Park Seo-won is the heir to the Korea-based holding company and in 2015 was promoted up the ranks to become a successor of one of the country’s largest business conglomerate.

Seo-won was appointed to the role of senior vice president in November 2015, where he has been responsible for the marketing and strategy of Doosan’s duty-free operations. It was the first Korean duty-free shop and features over 600 fashion, cosmetics, watch and jewellery brands, as well as lifestyle products.

He has been credited with Doosan’s venture back into retail. The corporation owns Doota Mall, which the company reports to attract over 20 million local and non-local customers. The mall offers over 100 brands including clothing, shoes, bags and accessories and also hosts Survival Fashion K, an incubation project designed to discover new K-fashion designers.

Under Seo-won's leadership, the conglomerate won the state license to operate in the tourist-frequented Dongdaemun district in central Seoul. He also leads Doosan’s advertising agency Oricom and independent creative consulting firm Big Ant.

In 2018, Seo-won married former JTBC anchor Jo Su-ae.
