Biography

Shelley Fox is the Donna Karan Professor of Fashion at Parsons, where she directs the Master of Fine Arts program in Fashion Design and Society.

After graduating from Central Saint Martins in 1996, Fox established a reputation as an experimental and innovative fashion designer, renowned for her vigorous research into new pattern-cutting techniques and fabric textures.

A key part of Fox’s work involves collaborations with artists from other disciplines, including London-based multi design collective Tomato, photographer Nick Knight ’s ShowStudio and sound artist Scanner. Fox was awarded both the Jerwood Fashion Prize and The Peugeot Design Award for Textiles in 1999.

Her work regularly receives worldwide coverage in magazines including i-D, Blueprint, Visionaire, The Independent, Wire and Vogue, and have been showcased as part of prestigious shows at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Design Museum, ICA and Barbican Art Gallery in London, Modemuseum in Antwerp, FIT in New York, as well as in China and British Council exhibitions.

Prior to joining Parsons, Fox was a senior research fellow at Central Saint Martins and held a Stanley Picker Fellowship at Kingston University.
