Gabriel Moses is a renowned photographer and filmmaker, celebrated for his collaborations with a long and rapidly growing list of brands including Adidas, Dior, Apple and Burberry.
Born in South London and deeply rooted in his Nigerian heritage, his meteoric rise in the fashion industry was not a given. As a child, he was surrounded by his sister's fashion study materials, which he initially found uninteresting. However, upon picking up a camera in his late teens, his perspective shifted and he began to appreciate the beauty in these images.
Moses' initial foray into the creative realm began with short films about his friends playing football, which he uploaded to YouTube. "There was a sense of accomplishment in creating something that was in your head for the world to see," he told Dazed. Soon after, he landed his first campaign, with Nike, at just 18 years old, and then became the youngest photographer to shoot the cover of Dazed.
His self-taught journey led him to develop a unique style characterised by deep tones, rich textures and narratives inspired by memory and fantasy. His work is a tribute to the women who have shaped him, especially his grandmother, mother and sister, who introduced him to the world of art and fashion.
Today, his work extends beyond brands and designers to include artists like Little Simz and Skepta. His work has been featured in publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, The Face, i-D, 032c and The New York Times. His debut solo exhibition, "Regina," was on display at 180 Studios in 2023.
