Biography

Roberta Benaglia is the chief executive and principal shareholder of Style Capital, a management company that operates private equity funds DGPA Capital and Style Capital, which invest in luxury fashion businesses. 

After graduating from Milan Polytechnic, Benaglia began her career coordinating public listings for the Borsa Italia. She moved to private equity in 2001, starting at Onetone Consulting working on information technology and media. 

She joined Style Capital SGR S.p.A (formerly known as DGPA SGR S.p.A) as a founding partner in 2005. In 2007, Benaglia was a major force behind the launch of the DGPA Fund, a private equity firm operated by Style Capital, which is responsible for the firm’s investments in fashion e-commerce. Benaglia spearheaded the fund’s investments in distressed luxury shoe brand Golden Goose, premium womenswear brand Twin-Set and swimwear maker Sundek. In 2016, she became the chief executive and main shareholder of the company’s second fund, Style Capital. 

Style Capital has since invested in companies including forte_forte, MSGM, Re/Done, Zimmermann and LuisaViaRoma. Bengalia helps to steer these investors as chairman of forte_forte and Zimmermann, executive chairman of MSGM, and executive vice president at LuisaViaRoma.
