Timothy Lim is group fashion director at Modern Media. The stylist oversees the fashion direction of all eleven publications under the Modern Media umbrella, including widely circulated Chinese fashion magazines Modern Weekly and Numéro China. During his tenure, Lim has styled widely celebrated covers for Numéro China and Modern Weekly, featuring a diverse spectrum of subjects, notably Chinese actresses Fan Bingbing and Zhang Ziyi .
Educated at McGill University and the Sorbonne, the Chinese Canadian is renowned for his artistic transformation of celebrities and his thought-provoking editorials. His work for i-D's Fall 2012 cover with Fan Bingbing and Chinese photographer Chen Man went viral on Chinese social media.
Former fashion editor at the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, Timothy Lim migrated to China’s leading independent publishing group Modern Media in 2006. Modern Media’s portfolio boasts Modern Weekly, Numéro China, Bloomberg Businessweek, Life Magazine, City Magazine and The Good Life. Lim has worked alongside prominent players of the industry including Paolo Roversi , Fei Fei Sun and Liu Wen . He has also contributed written and styling pieces to international editions of Vogue, Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Tank, and i-D.
