In partnership with the Manchester Metropolitan University, the Manchester Fashion Institute offers womenswear, menswear and sportswear programmes with an emphasis on innovation and technology. In the last 12 months, students from the school have won design competitions with brands like Gap, Coach and Old Navy. However, the school lacks the global reputation of other schools in our survey. Despite this, it was highly regarded for the networking opportunities it provides and quality of recruiters it attracts. As a result, 95 percent of students felt prepared to enter the fashion industry following their studies.

Student & Alumni Comments
"Overall my experience at Manchester Fashion Institute (MFI) has been extremely positive. Throughout the course students are encouraged to explore cutting edge fashion technology. There have been opportunities for us to meet people from industry thus gaining us insight into the skills needed as well as networking. The quality of teaching is high and tutors are always on hand to give advice. "
"Teaching was of a very high level - they all had current industry experience and made the course very interesting to study. The course was formed to include all aspects of buying and merchandising and the placement year was of great benefit."
"Great opportunity to do placements in London, but I had to find my own opportunity to go to NYC on an exchange. Had to push for content in lectures to go a bit further and be a bit more international."
