Air Mail, the newsletter-led publication founded by former Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Graydon Carter and New York Times reporter Alessandra Stanley, has appointed Jessica Diehl to be the editor of its soon-to-be-launched style vertical.

Diehl is a former colleague of Carter’s, previously serving as the creative director of fashion and style at Vanity Fair; before that, she spent time at Vogue and Allure. Most recently, she’s worked as a consultant and stylist with brands including Hugo Boss and Dior.

At Air Mail, she will be in charge of leading coverage of fashion, style and commerce, and developing the publication’s editorial strategy for its yet-to-be-named vertical. Set to formally debut in 2024, the vertical will cover fashion from a service perspective and will serve as an editorial complement to Air Supply, Air Mail’s e-commerce shop.

“The new style vertical will be less about news and more about taste, curation, and commerce,” said Diehl. “Air Mail readers already know the best way to tie a trench coat, or where to buy the best pair of vintage jeans in London. They need curation, discovery, and access to match their taste level and sophistication.”

The publication’s first separate vertical, the beauty-and-wellness-focussed Look, is led by another Condé Nast veteran, Linda Wells, the founding editor of Allure.
