Serge Ruffieux launches accessories brand 13 09 SR. 13 09 SR.

The label — named 13 09 SR after Ruffieux’s birth date and initials — will debut with a collection of shoes and sunglasses at Paris fashion week in October, Ruffieux said in an Instagram post.

Ruffieux previously served as creative director at Carven for a brief three season stint, which ended in November 2018, after the French fashion label was acquired by China’s Icicle Fashion Group. Prior to joining Carven in 2017, he was interim co-artistic director of Dior’s womenswear collections with Lucie Meier.

The designer co-founded his new brand with journalist Emilie Faure, who exited French newspaper Le Figaro in February.

13 09 SR will focus on responsible fashion, with the accessories made from recycled or ecological materials, the company said in a press release. The shoes and sunglasses will be made in Italy.
