LCFMA19 Womenswear Preview
In the lead up to this event, we've been catching up with the students about how they've found the creative process of bringing their designs to life and their experience of studying at LCF.
Xiaonan Ma: I was inspired by fusing British gentleman culture with Japanese wabi-sabi culture. Compared to other schools, LCF is a magical place.
Danyuan Chen: My collection is based on Zero Waste Pattern Cutting, which reduces fabric waste from cloth to garment and can save production costs.
Zin Zhang: My time at LCF has been the toughest yet happiest time in my life, and it has definitely been a good self-improvement experience
Lingni Zhang: “Unpredictable Contradiction” explores the contradictory relationship between obedience and resistance, restraint and freedom.
Subin Kim: My collection is about a reflection of my relationship with life: daydream, escapism and finding oneself.
Huidi Zhan: “Rise from the Ruins” reflects on the pain and inner strength of women: they constantly break free from bondage to blossom and heal.
Yingzhen Ye: This course has stimulated my passion and confidence for fashion design and it has prepared me well to enter the fashion industry
Missy Wu: "The Silent Ones" is about my approach and feelings towards femininity and feminism. The project tells the story of my experience as a woman
Chao Yin: I tried to challenge people's existing cognition by keeping the "normal" image but with unusual, interesting and functional details.
