Fun. Fast-paced. Challenging. Competitive. Whether it's business-building behind the scenes or designing for the showroom or runway, fashion today is a diverse and exciting industry. The Fashion Program at Marist College successfully prepares its students to enter the world of fashion and pursue careers in merchandising, planning, product development, retailing, operations, fashion promotion, event product, and a gamut of other employment opportunities. Students gain the skills, knowledge and internship experiences within an encouraging academic environment to help them flourish in the fashion industry.

The four-year curriculum offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design, with supporting minors in Product Development or Merchandising, or a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising, with concentration options in Business, Product Development or Fashion Promotion.

For the arriving Freshman, students immediately begin foundational coursework in Fashion while pursuing classic Liberal Arts coursework in the fine Marist tradition. Design majors begin their program during the first year of study, Merchandising majors have until the end of their Sophomore year to declare the area of concentration most in tune with their career path and goals. This rich academic plan is further supported by both academic opportunities and real life fashion industry experiences including internships, elective courses to appeal to many fashion specializations, study abroad options for short programs or full semesters, entrepreneurial programs, and participation in high-visibility national competitions with other top institutions.
