LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

American Apparel Ousts Founder Dov Charney
Founder Dov Charney has been ousted at American Apparel Inc. amid allegations of misconduct. The company's board said late Wednesday that it voted to replace Charney as chairman and will terminate him as president and chief officer, pending 30 days of the grace period stipulated in his employment agreement. Charney, 45, founded American Apparel as a wholesale t-shirt business in 1998. The brand's USP is that all its clothes are manufactured in downtown Los Angeles in non-sweatshop facilities. Over the years Charney has been repeatedly targeted in sexual harassment lawsuits, stemming from the retailer's racy advertising, often featuring young, half-naked models. Following Charney's dismissal, Allan Mayer and David Danzinger have been appointed co-chairmen of the board, while executive vice president and chief financial officer John Luttrell has taken the reins as interim chief executive. The timing of Charney's exit comes as the company is struggling with weak sales and heavy debt. In May the company reported a net loss of $5.5 million for the three months ended March 31.

Olivier Theyskens Leaving Theory
Belgian-born designer Olivier Theyskens is parting ways with contemporary brand Theory, where he has been at the creative helm for the past four years. Theyskens joined Theory in 2010 from Nina Ricci, where he was artistic director for two years, to design a capsule collection under the Theyskens Theory label. The collection of minimalistic tailoring proved instantly popular with fashion editors, and he took over as the brand's artistic director in 2011. The Theyskens Theory label was discontinued in November last year and the brand decided to operate under just Theory. The details of Theyskens' new endeavours have not been revealed, but there is speculation that the designer may revive his signature label, which he put on hiatus when he joined Rochas in 2003. His final collection for Theory will be pre-spring 2015. A successor at Theory has not been named, so the label will be run by the in-house design team after Theyskens' departure.

Incontri to Tod's as Men's Creative Director
Italian luxury goods brand Tod's has named Andrea Incontri as creative director of menswear, with a focus on ready-to-wear. The spring collection, which is to be shown this Sunday at the PAC contemporary art space in Milan, was designed by the in-house team under supervision by Incontri. Incontri's appointment follows as part of Tod's chairman and chief executive officer Diego Della Valle's effort to expand the brand's men's division. Incontri graduated from architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and launched his namesake brand in 2009. He won the "Who Is On Next" talent search in 2010, in the accessories category of the men's competition. In February 2013, he debuted a women's collection during Milan Fashion Week. Tod's women's collection is designed by former Valentino creative director, Alessandra Facchinetti.

EBay Chief Executive Joins Nike
Nike, the world's largest sporting goods maker, has appointed eBay's chief executive officer John Donahoe to its board of directors. Donahoe, 54, has been the chief executive officer of eBay since 2008, overseeing the global eBay.com marketplace and the PayPal payment system. Before joining the company in 2005, he was the chief executive of Bain & Co. Donahoe also serves on the board of directors of Intel Corporation and is a member of the President's Export Council.

Kate Spade Names Senior Vice President of International
Kate Spade & Co. has appointed Roy Chan as its senior vice president of international, a newly created position. In his new role, Chan will oversee strategic oversight and international expansion of Kate Spade New York, Kate Spade Saturday and Jack Spade. He reports to Craig Leavitt, chief executive officer of Kate Spade. Previously, Chan was president of international at Jones Group, where he worked for two years. He also served as acting chief executive of Band of Outsiders, global chief operating officer of Japanese brand Evisu, and held a number of senior titles at Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger.

Fred Perry Appoints New Brand Director
British sportswear brand Fred Perry has named Rob Gaitt as its new brand director, following the departure of Andrew Rogers earlier this year. Gaitt joins from British luxury label Dunhill, where he was global head of brand image, responsible for leading all brand aspects of the business. Prior to Dunhill, he held various positions at Puma and Nike. Rogers stepped down in February to join McQ, the diffusion label from Alexander McQueen, as brand director, after less than a year in his role at Fred Perry. Before joining Fred Perry, Rogers was brand director at Reiss for five years.
