Roberto Cavalli Names CEO
Gian Giacomo Ferraris, former chief executive officer of Versace, has joined Roberto Cavalli SpA as chief executive officer. In seven years, Ferraris turned Versace around, bringing the company back to profit and increasing revenue. He succeeds Renato Semerari, who is stepping down due to strategic differences. Cavalli's president, Francesco Trapani, is also leaving his roles at the company and its shareholder Clessidra.
Aquascutum MD and Head of Menswear
Philip Brassington has joined Aquascutum as managing director, succeeding chief operating officer, Mark Taylor. Previously, Brassington was managing director at Dunhill. Meanwhile, Te Dinh Sy has been named head of menswear, succeeding Thomas Harvey, who left the company in July.
Men's Creative Director to Exit Carven
Barnabé Hardy, creative director of menswear at Carven, will step down at the end of the month, as the company puts its menswear line on hold and focuses on womenswear. Hardy joined the business in January 2015.
Billabong Director Retires
Sally Pitkin has announced her retirement as the director of Billabong International, effective August 15. Pitkin served at Billabong for four and a half years, and was also chair of the company's human resources and remuneration committee.
British Retail Consortium Appoints Chairman
Richard Baker has joined the British Retail Consortium as chairman. Baker, who is chairman of DFS and Whitbread, succeeds Sir Charlie Mayfield, effective September 1.
Assi Gol to Join Shop Direct
Shop Direct has appointed Assi Gol as customer intelligence director, marking the brand's third data-focused senior appointment this month. Prior to joining Shop Direct, Gol was junior partner at McKinsey & Company.
