LONDON, United Kingdom – BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

Pandora CEO Leighton Steps Down
Anders Colding Friis has been appointed the new chief executive of Danish jeweller Pandora, effective March 2015. He succeeds Allan Leighton, who is set to step down after a year in the role. Leighton, who has been chief executive officer since April 2013, will return to the group's board as co-deputy chairman. Friis, 51, holds a MSc in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School and has been Group CEO of Scandinavian Tobacco Group, the world's largest manufacturer of cigars and pipe tobacco, since 2006. Leighton said: "In Anders we have found exactly that rare combination of strong leadership skills and thorough business understanding… to take the company to the next stage."

SMCP Hires Managing Director for Sandro
SMCP Group has hired Jean-Philippe Hecquet as managing director of fashion chain Sandro, effective this week. Most recently, Hecquet was responsible for worldwide retail operations at watchmaker Tag Heuer, having also previously worked in various roles for Louis Vuitton in the U.S. and Canada. He takes over from Stéphane Ledru, who becomes chief executive officer of the Asia-Pacific region for SMCP, the holding company for the Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot chains. In May, Sylvie Colin took over as general manager of Maje.

American Apparel Adds to Board
American Apparel Inc. investor Lion Capital plans to add a director to the troubled retailer's board. In a regulatory filing on Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commision, the London-based private equity firm announced it had chosen former food executive Robert Mintz. Mintz, who has more than 23 years of experience in the meat industry, will expand the board to eight members and be the sixth new director added since last month. Lion continues to hold a stake in the apparel company through warrants it acquired in December 2013 that gave the firm the right to fill the board's ninth spot.
