Amazon Fashion has listed Shein as a seller taking part in its Prime Day 2021 sale, set to go live in India on July 26 and 27, according to a report from Indian financial newspaper, Mint.
Shein’s own platform for Indian shoppers remains inaccessible following a ban instituted on Gen Z’s favourite fast fashion player in June 2020, when it was caught up in a crackdown on Chinese apps in the wake of an escalation in tensions on the Indo-China border.
TikTok, Weibo, WeChat, AliExpress and Shein, among others, were blacklisted by India’s home ministry, and removed from both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
