“A Guide To Supporting Black Creatives,” written by design directors Kendall Henderson, Johnathan Jackson and Bijan Berahimi and others, is a seven-step outline on how fashion companies can better serve Black talent as the industry continues to work through its racial reckoning. Suggestions include focusing on hiring younger Black talent, compensating Black talent for “unspoken cultural value that their presence alone brings to the company” and creating more programmes within underrepresented communities that will help to foster future talent.
The preamble to the guide has been signed by numerous creative people working within the industry, including Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne.
