PARIS, France — Dior Homme is launching a limited-edition BMX bike in collaboration with Bogarde, the Parisian bike label whose contemporary designs are inspired by 1980s bicycles.

First teased on the Instagram account of creative director Kris van Assche back in October, the chrome-tinted BMX bike is finished with Dior Homme's black and red house colours. The brand’s bee logo is engraved on the handles.

The bike — which retails for €2,500 ($3,200) — is set to launch during the Sole DXB streetwear festival held between December 7th and 9th, before being available upon request in Dior Homme boutiques around the world. It is the first in a series of three designs. Only 70 total will be produced.

In part, Dior Homme's rendition on the two-wheeled vehicle takes its cues from 1990s street culture, a main source of inspiration for Van Assche, who often merges streetwear and tailoring. This aesthetic was most recently seen during Dior Homme's Spring/Summer 2018 show, which saw the designer send models down the runway in the house's classic dark suiting mixed with its rendition of chunky 'dad' sneakers.
