Birimian, an investment company focused on African luxury and heritage brands, has announced 10 African designers that will join the company’s accelerator programme in partnership with Institut Français de la Mode (IFM).
Selected brands include Christie Brown from Ghana, Loza Maléombho from Cote d’ Ivoire, Post Imperial from Nigeria, and Mille Collines from Rwanda. The designers selected will also be highlighted at the Première Classe event organised by trade show WSN, also known as Who’s Next, as part of Paris Fashion Week on Oct. 1–4.
“The class of designers invited to join the IFM-Birimian Accelerator x Africa program embody the new creative African guard,” said Laureen Kouassi-Olsson, CEO of Birimian. The 10-month programme will provide designers with operational, strategic, creative, and financial support and give them access to an ecosystem of the French and European creative scene.
